RYA Powerboat Intermediate Course

The RYA 2 day powerboat intermediate course teaches powerboating so that you are able to confidently complete a short coastal passage by day.

A big emphasis is once again placed on safety, whilst traditional together with electronic navigation will be looked at in more detail, as well as all aspects of undertaking a longer cruise. These skills will be put into practice to prepare a plan for carrying out a passage.

You should already be competent to the National Powerboat Level 2 standard and it is recommended that you hold a First Aid certificate and a VHF/SRC Operator's Licence.

The minimum age for this course is 16 years.

The course runs for 2 days costs £265 per person.

Course Requirements & Outcomes

Assumed knowledge Boat handling to the standard of the Level 2 Powerboat Handling course with a coastal endorsement. Knowledge to the level of Day Skipper theory is recommended. It is strongly recommended that candidates hold a first aid certificate and a VHF/SRC operators certificate.

What do I need to bring?

Warm clothing, waterproofs and suitable shoes to wear on the vessel and pontoons. Also bring a passport photo so we can attach this to your RYA Certificate.

Additional Information & Accommodation

There will be a maximum of 3 people per vessel on this course. This ensures that you get as much time as possible driving the boat and a personalised course experience. Should you require accommodation whilst taking the course we can recommend you a number of Airbnb properties as well as hotels.
